A self taught artist born in Buenos Aires, Argentina Diego moved with his father to New Orleans as a teenager and began presenting his portfolio to galleries with much rejection, however he continued painting and eventually caught the attention of internationally acclaimed artist George Rodrigue’s gallerist friend who quickly sold 5 paintings of Tangdog…and so the artists journey began. Shortly after Katrina he relocated to Santa Fe, NM and met the owners of POP Gallery, who represented him there before moving to Denver. He returned with his family to New Orleans and continued making paintings & sculpture of Tangdog and Downtown Cat in his highly textured style.
